History, Modern Foreign Languages and Geography are taught on half termly rotation. In Geography we focus on developing an understanding of the local and global issues. They learn to appreciate the similarities between their own and others' cultures as well as keeping up to date with world events. We give them the experiences of food, customs and language from different countries, for example they might research and cook food from Spain whilst learning a little Spanish. In History we build on their experiences to make the learning relevant, for example when learning about the Victorians we might compare schools now and in the past and encourage them to share their thoughts on how things have changed. We make use of local resources and exhibitions, including The Museum of London with whom we have a longstanding relationship.
